Gender Dysphoria

Gender Dysphoria

Gender Dysphoria is a collaboration of Kendra Barth and Josh Jinkens. Wishing to both explore and criticize society's views and ideas of gender, the artists formulated, photographed, and manipulated images to create physical expressions of their views on the subject. Both artists created separate interpretations of the images to further study differing views on the same subject matter before compiling both artists' renditions in a photo book. Barth's delineations can be found in her web gallery. The artists' intention is to invoke emotion while leaving room for viewers to question society's views of cultural norms as well as their own thoughts and beliefs.
